The City and County of San Francisco’s fiscal year ended on June 30th. Every June/July comes a magical time where the City departments realize if they have money left at the end of the fiscal year. Followed shortly after by burning through whatever they have left, before new money gets dumped into their coffers on July 1. Typically, this shell game type behavior leads to things like two back to back Academy classes so one can be on the end of a budget cycle, while the next class starting shortly after July 1 is miraculously funded with the new fiscal year money. But when you can not fill one Academy class, I guess we can’t have two.
Thanks for adding clarification on the personnel numbers. SFPD has not been forthright about the growing lack of law enforcement protection to our city.
Any thoughts on what Elon Musk just posted in response to Hillary Clintons assertions? It seems people are comparing Chicago PD (jussie smollett) vs San Francisco PD (Paul Pelosi)?
But just from hearing the reports it does sound a bit odd. However, after being a cop for awhile sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction, and the simplest answer of crazy people do crazy things may be the best answer.
I’m interested to see when more information is released. I’d imagine the house where the third person in line to the presidency has cameras around it. Releasing those could probably dispel a lot of the rumors.

I honestly have no inside baseball on this case. I imagine the report and any other materials like body worn camera footage related to it have been protected/locked out anyone from looking at it.
I do think releasing the 911 call from Pelosi to 911, not the call broadcast to the officers which was already released, and releasing the body worn camera footage could eliminate some of these stories that are floating around. If they don’t release it, or keep trying to avoid releasing it, that will only add fuel to the fire of suspicions.
Congrats, the Mayor asked for $51 million to hire 200 more officers and run 8 academys. Some dont want spend it on the police.

Recent data showed San Francisco police use force on Black people 12 times as often as they do on white people, and five times more in Hispanic people."
They’ve been funding the classes….they literally can’t find butts to fill the seats. And with political leaders continued attacks calling cops racist, I can’t imagine why no one wants to come join.

Yeah when the number seems high…like we magically got up to near 2000 members it’s including the SFO personnel.
When it’s the low number approaching 1500…it’s the City cops.
One was used for awhile to pretend we didn’t have an enormous problem. Now the other is used because reality has set in….finally.
