"the City will realize the problems that an insane anti-Law and Order DA and the “Defund” movement have caused."

I admire your faith and optimism that someday "the City will realize the problems". That is some serious positive thinking. The officers that left realize the citizens and their elected leaders believe law enforcement is the problem. Here in King county WA, half the officers left Seattle PD and reported for duty 4 exits down interstate 5. All of the smaller local departments have been absorbing them and paying bonuses.

The city and its elected officials do not hide their opinion that YOU are the problem. Ask them, they accept a short term pain for a long term fix to the problems Police CAUSED the city. This is what they believe and do not hide it. Good luck and I wish you the best in your cause.

Great article seems like Scott can certainly do much more. Gascon was another real winner as Chief and then as DA. Why do you think we keep getting flawed police chiefs?

In the name of diversity...we get all these flawed leaders. Merit has no place in SF leadership positions any more. And we see the results...chaos and disfunction on our streets. As a lifelong San Franciscan (76 yrs), it breaks my heart what has happened to our City in the name of diversity.

It’s very sad. Breaks my heart too. SF has so much going for it. All self inflicted wounds.

Keep exposing Chief Scott's window dressing of morale problems. Ambassadors will not keep the city safe.

Sadly in short order the ambassadors may be all that’s left.

As a third generation native of San Fransicko, and a retired deputy sheriff of 23 years, all I can say is, SF is a wrap. I was forced to retire last March because I refused PCR testing/the jab. I was sent home and retired “that day”. You’d have to be insane to want to be in that city. And Chief Scott wears a rainbow patch on his uniform? Are you kidding me? Morale is the least of the SFPD’s problems.

Also a 3rd generation native San Franciscan and it kills me to see what my hometown has become. It’s awful. Sadly I think it’s still got a further fall before anything gets better. Just like a junkie, it’s gotta hit rock bottom before the recovery starts.

Well Rich, I think that may be nearly impossible. There is so much evil in that city! I live outside SF, and I’m literally REPELLED by the City. I stay very close to God The Father, who has protected me throughout my LE career and I follow His Will. The City is the perfect example of a breakdown of a civil society and the absence of God. And innocents are the ones that pay the price.

Why was Chief Scott wear a rainbow SFPD patch on his uniform???? That’s absolutely PATHETIC. There’s your problem.
